The Sam360 agent can be installed on a Microsoft Windows® device in order to
- Gather software & hardware inventory information
- Meter software usage
The agent does not include any user interface components. It simply runs in the background collecting inventory and/or software usage information. All collected data is uploaded over a secure HTTPS link to the Sam360 servers on port 443.
The latest version of the agent can be downloaded from the Sam360 portal configuration page or from the partner client list (if applicable) The agent installer is customised specifically for each client, so no configuration is required during the installation process.
Requirements
- Windows XP SP3 / Windows Server 2003 SP2 or newer
- 256 MB RAM
- 50 MB of available disk space
- The agent communicates with the following Sam360 servers over https (port 443) It may be necessary to add an exception to proxy or firewall white lists to enable this communication.
